Dramatic baritone Thomas Hall made his European debut at the Savonlinna Opera Festival as Telramund in Wagner’s Lohengrin. He has reprised the role at Teatr Wielki Opera Narodawa, Warsaw, and for Korea National Opera in Seoul. Mr. Hall returned to Savonlinna the following year to sing the title role in Der Fliegende Holländer, a role he has also performed at Teatro Regio Torino, Teatro Communale di Bologna, Opera Hong Kong, Circuito Lirico Lombardo, and Opera på Skäret in Sweden.
As Wotan/Wanderer in Der Ring des Nibelungen he has been seen in two complete Ring cycles at Theater Kiel, in Das Rheingold and Siegfried for the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden Maifestspiele, in Die Walküre at Grange Park Opera, and in Siegfried at the Oldenburgisches Staatstheater.
Mr. Hall’s Strauss roles include Jochanaan in Salome at Opera Australia, Den Norsk Opera and Ballett, and The Royal Danish Opera; Orest in Elektra for Teatro Communale di Bologna; and Barak in Die Frau ohne Schatten at Theater Kiel. Other roles include Scarpia in Tosca in Bologna, Jesi, and Fermo, Italy. Most recently Mr. Hall was seen as the four villains in Les Contes D’Hoffmann at Operklosterneuburg, Austria.
