Originating from Oradea, Romania, baritone Florin Estefan has been a soloist with the Romanian National Opera in Cluj-Napoca since 2001. In December 2007, he graduated from the Artistic Mastery program at the Cardiff International Academy of Voice, having studied with renowned Welsh tenor Dennis O’Neill.
In 2016, he was awarded the highly prestigious title of “Best Lyric Soloist of the Year” at the National Opera’s Prize Gala in Bucharest for his performance of the title role in Eugene Onegin. In addition to Onegin, he has performed an impressive series of roles including Amonasro, Renato, Il Conte di Luna, Germont, Rigoletto, Rodrigo di Posa, Macbeth, Marcello, Sharpless, Don Giovanni, Figaro, Enrico, Malatesta, Belcore, and Nick Shadow.
Mr. Estefan’s symphonic repertoire includes Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, Haydn’s Missa Cellensis, Mozart’s Requiem, Rossini’s Petite Messe Solenelle, Orff’s Carmina Burana, G. Fauré’s Requiem, and Mussorgsky Songs and Dances of Death.
