Ewa Majcherczyk Soprano

Winner of the 2018 prestigious The Kiepura Prize for Best Polish Female Singer, soprano Ewa Majcherczyk is a 2008 graduate of the Music Academy in Katowice. She continued her education with a two-year tenure at the Laboratorio Toscano della Lirica Opera Studio. Since her Polish debut as Adina in L’elisir d’amore at Warsaw Opera and international debut as Cunegunde in Candide in 2010 in Teatro del Giglio, Teatro Verdi in Pisa, Teatro Alighieri in Ravenna, and Teatro Goldoni in Livorno, she has become one of the leading Polish sopranos in Europe, interpreting roles like Lucia di Lammermoor, Violetta Valéry in La Traviata, Musetta in La bohème, Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Gilda in Rigoletto, and Micaela in Carmen with finesse.

In 2016, Ms. Majcherczyk debuted at the Warsaw National Opera as First Lady in The Magic Flute in Barrie Kosky’s production. She is known for her interpretations of opera rara like Grigori Frid’s The Diary of Anne Frank at the Sinfonietta Krakow Festival (2017), as well as roles from romantic and classic repertoire like Hanna in Stanislaw Moniuszko’s Haunted Manor, Juliette in Roméo et Juliette, and Sandrina in La Finta Giardiniera.
